Fundraising Assistant (Telemarketing) Volunteer

Title Vacant: Fundraising Assistant (Telemarketing) Volunteer.

Duration of the mission: Two Months.

Working Time: 37h/week

Various telemarketing campaigns are run annually by the Retention and Acquisition team within the FDC department. These activities primarily aim to process new donors, convert non-financial supporters into donors, and upgrade/reactivate current and lapsed donors.

We are seeking a volunteer that can work collaboratively with our fundraising, gift processing, and donor services teams, has strong marketing and communications skills, to be responsive to our needs, and can help us refine and improve our overall telephone experience for our donors and supporters. Call quality, a positive donor experience, and adherence to SOS Palestine’s’ brand and values are of the utmost importance.

SOS Palestine Telemarketing Program objectives:

  • Recruit new individual donors for SOS via Committed and Regular Giving offers.
  • Retain SOS’s financial supporters and uplift via retention, mop-up and upgrade calling.
  • Develop strong, positive relationships between SOS and its supporters through TM campaign calling.
  • Consistently monitor and report on calls performance.
  • Optimize individual TM campaigns as appropriate to improve campaign performance.

These campaigns include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Acquisition – Ongoing – Conversion calling outbound (Salesforce/Meta/Google Leads) Retention – (all outbound) Ongoing – Recovery calling.
  • To successfully manage SOS Palestine’s TM campaigns, it is expected that any prospective volunteer will be able to support the team in the standards and expertise detailed below;
  • TM campaign management and execution
  • Appropriate account management
  • Detailed reporting and analysis of campaign performance
  • Accurate and secure data transfer and storage as appropriate
  • Values and policies in line with SOS’s values and policies

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in communicating with donors and prospective donors in a positive, engaging and enthusiastic manner that strengthens the connection between non-profit and donor.
  • Ability to use SOS facilities to call both mobile and landline phones.
  • Use of custom scripts
  • Ability to provide daily reports on donations. Daily donation file must include Call Date, Donor’s first and last name, Donor’s address, city, state, zip, Donor’s phone number (if provided), Donor’s email address (if provided), Donation amount
  • Ability to communicate quickly and efficiently with SOS Palestine and respond to requests
  • Ability to maintain data privacy and information security while dealing with donor’s information and data.

Donor Experience & Call Quality Requirements:

  • Ability to customize scripting to reflect SOS Palestine’s brand and values
  • Scripting and call approach that leaves the donor leaves the call feeling appreciated, valued and good about their support of SOS
  • Callers practice and internalize scripting so calls sound natural and fluid, not scripted
  • Callers engage in active listening and personalization, prioritizing responding to donors’ wishes and preferences
  • Callers are passionate about SOS’ mission and speak enthusiastically.

Child Safeguarding (CS)

  • Responsible within own area of work to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination.
  • Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the IOR CS focal person and/or to the respective line manager.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Based in Bethlehem
  • 1 year or more of successful outbound telemarketing – preference given to telephone fundraising experience.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity
  • Ability to handle donor services issues (complaints, questions, comments, follow-up, etc).
