SOS Children's Villages Palestine signs an agreement with Ministry of Labour to Support Unemployed Workers from Southern Palestine

SOS Children's Villages Palestine, represented by its National Director, Mrs. Ghada Hirzallah, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Palestinian Ministry of Labor, represented by Her Excellency Minister Dr. Inas Al-Atari, in the presence of the Governor of Bethlehem Governorate Mr. Mohammed Taha and the Director of the Labor Office in Bethlehem Governorate Mr. Ayman Odeh. This took place on the sidelines of the Minister's tour of Bethlehem Governorate and the General Assembly meeting of the Employment Council.

The memorandum of understanding, signed in the city of Bethlehem, aims to provide financial support to 500 unemployed workers in the governorates of Bethlehem and Hebron who lost their jobs due to current circumstances. This is within the framework of the Community Empowerment Project in the southern West Bank, funded by the Hermann Gmeiner Fund in Germany. According to the agreement, the organization will provide a financial grant to each beneficiary over three months.

The signing of this memorandum came on the sidelines of the visit of Her Excellency Minister of Labor Dr. Inas Al-Atari to Bethlehem Governorate, where she chaired a meeting of the General Assembly of the Employment Council. The purpose was to present joint proposals to support the implementation of employment projects, review the employment situation in the governorate, and address issues related to labor market imbalances and its needs for specializations.

Mrs.Hirzallah emphasized that this initiative comes within the framework of the organization's commitment to supporting Palestinian communities, especially in the current difficult circumstances. She pointed out that the project aims to contribute to the social and economic stability of families most affected by unemployment and to enhance hope among the unemployed by supporting them according to available capabilities.

Under the agreement, the Ministry of Labor will be responsible for nominating beneficiaries according to specified criteria and providing the organization with necessary supporting documents, while SOS Children's Villages will manage the grant, verify data, and provide the necessary funding to beneficiaries.

This memorandum is considered part of a series of emergency projects responding to current circumstances in Palestine, and reflects the commitment of SOS Children's Villages Palestine, which has been operating since 1968, to providing support to Palestinian communities and empowering families through effective partnership with government institutions.
