Evacuated children are continuing to build their dreams in Bethlehem

During the holiday season, Rawan’s business flourishes as demand increases for cookies and pastry, strengthening her hope for the success and growth of her project.

In a small and simple house in Bethlehem lives the mother, Etimad, who is 39 years old, with her five children. Hanan, 14 years old; Mahmoud, 11 years old; the twins Saed and Karam, 10 years old; and Layla, 3 years old).  In that small house, this family faced many financial challenges and significant psychological pressure, especially since the father was not able to work due to suffering from a severe illness, which limited his movement and activity. This affected the stability of the family, specifically Eatmd, who made sure to face these challenges and provide for her family. 

Fares is four years old. He came to SOS Children’s Villages through a mosque imam, who found him in January 2024 as a separated and unaccompanied child. Fares spent one year and eight months under the care of SOS Children’s Villages, living in Mama Hidaya’s caravan.

Joud is a second-grade student in primary school. She transferred from Ghassan Kanafani School to SOS Children's Villages School after the teaching staff at her previous school struggled to support her due to the lack of a special education teacher.
