SOS Children’s Villages Palestine Signed a Series of Cooperation Agreements with Four Palestinian Universities

SOS Children’s Villages Palestine signed a series of cooperation agreements with four Palestinian universities as part of the implementation of the “Strengthening Communities in Southern West Bank” project, funded by the Hermann Gmeiner Fund in Germany.

The agreements were signed over two days between the National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Palestine, Ms. Ghada Hirzallah, and the presidents and representatives of the Palestinian universities respectively: Dr. Fadi Qattan, Executive Vice President of Bethlehem University; Prof. Hussein Jadou, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs at Al-Quds University; Dr. Raghad Al-Dweik, President of Hebron University; and finally Dr. Mustafa Abu Al-Safa, President of Palestine Polytechnic University.

These agreements come within the framework of the project’s implementation, which aims to provide financial support to hundreds of university students from various fields of study by contributing to their tuition fees for the current semester, in light of the prevailing circumstances.

In this context, Mrs. Hirzallah stated:“At SOS Children’s Villages, we believe that education is the key to empowering young people and opening new horizons for their future. Through these partnerships with Palestinian universities, we aim to ease the financial burden on students and their families, and to support them in continuing their academic and professional journeys; which will, in turn, positively impact their families and communities.”

The “Strengthening Communities in Southern West Bank” project is one of the key developmental initiatives implemented by SOS Children’s Villages Palestine with funding from the SOS Children's Villages Worldwide. It aims to strengthen the resilience of families and improve access to higher education opportunities for students from low-income households. The organization also looks forward to enhancing the role of academic institutions as key partners in promoting sustainable development within Palestinian society through future collaboration.
