As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting children without parental care in Palestine, Bank of Jordan has renewed its cooperation agreement with SOS Children’s Villages Palestine, including the sponsorship of a family house at SOS Children’s Village in Bethlehem.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Saif Issa, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Jordan branches in Palestine, and Mrs. Ghada Hirzallah, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Palestine, in the presence of staff from both the bank and the organization.

Bank of Jordan’s support covers the provision of various basic needs, including education, clothing, food, as well as health and psychosocial care, in addition to other related expenses, for a full year for one of the village’s family houses. Each house is home to approximately seven children, who receive alternative care and family-strengthening support to enable them to become independent and active members of society.

Mr. Issa stated that renewing the agreement with SOS Children’s Villages comes within Bank of Jordan’s strategy to achieve a clear and sustainable social impact by supporting community initiatives aimed at providing care and a dignified life for children without parental care, and securing a promising future for them. He also commended the efforts exerted by SOS Children’s Villages Palestine and its active role in the community.

For her part, Mrs. Hirzallah expressed her pride in the strategic partnership between SOS Children’s Villages and Bank of Jordan, and in the renewal of the cooperation agreement, which will enable the organization to continue providing alternative family-based care services, including care, food security, shelter, education, health and psychosocial care, economic empowerment, protection, and community integration for children without parental care.

It is worth noting that Bank of Jordan is keen to implement corporate social responsibility programs that contribute to achieving sustainable development and creating a positive impact in Palestinian society.
