The Second Teaching and Learning Space of SOS Children's Villages Palestine is now receiving children in Gaza

SOS Children’s Villages Palestine opened the second Teaching and Learning Space, with large participation from the Ministry of Education , partner organizations, representatives of the displacement camps, community leaders in Khan Younis, and a large number of parents of the students enrolled at the school.

The Teaching and Learning Space includes seven learning tents equipped with school furniture, in addition to an administration room and a school counselor’s room, contributing to a safe and supportive learning environment for students.

The new space serves around 500 students, from kindergarten to Grade 6, among displaced children living in camps near the site. It operates in a double-shift system to ensure the continuity of education under exceptional circumstances.

Participants highlighted that the well-organized setup of the educational space, along with the distribution of educational kits, will help provide quality education, ease the burden on parents, and encourage students to continue their education.

Recently, 6,518 individuals have received Education in Emergencies support, including temporary learning spaces, educational assistance, mental health and psychosocial support services, and teacher’s capacity-building. The team is also working in coordination with the Ministry of Education to introduce an additional learning shift, aiming to accommodate more students and reduce overcrowding.
