SOS Children’s Villages Palestine National Director Mrs. Ghada Hirzallah, welcomed the Minister of Labour, Mrs. Enas Al-Atari, during her visit to the SOS Children’s Village in Bethlehem to review the humanitarian services and programs provided by the organization for children without parental care, and to discuss ways of strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of social protection, economic empowerment, and vocational training.
During the visit, Al-Atari emphasized the importance of the role played by SOS Children’s Villages in providing a safe and stable family environment for children. She praised the efforts made in supporting the most vulnerable groups and enhancing their ability to become self-reliant through education, rehabilitation, and training programs. She also stressed the need to expand cooperation in training programs and link them to the labour market, including entrepreneurship initiatives and the “Job Match” employment platform, in addition to supporting emergency interventions amid the difficult economic and humanitarian conditions, and strengthening partnerships with national and international institutions to promote rapid response.
For her part, Hirzallah explained that the organization continues its efforts to strengthen care, protection, and economic empowerment programs for children, youth, and families through effective partnerships with governmental, national, and international institutions. These efforts aim to provide training and qualification opportunities and open better prospects for integration into the labour market, particularly considering the current humanitarian and economic challenges. She also emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Labour in developing joint programs that support youth and adolescents and enable them to build a more stable and independent future.
The visit was attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Labour and the Bethlehem Labour Office, alongside teams from the National Office of SOS Children’s Villages and the Bethlehem Program. The delegation toured the village facilities and reviewed the services provided to children and young people, while discussing prospects for future cooperation.
