Despite the pain, children have the right to be happy.
In an atmosphere filled with hope for a better future, the children in SOS Children's Villages welcomed Christmas with an event titled "Celebrating the Joy of Christmas with Children," organized by the European Union in Palestine.
The event included a "Wish Tree" activity, where children shared their wishes and dreams, which held great hopes, such as ending the war in Gaza, returning to their homes, and living in peace. Some dreamed of becoming a soccer player, a pilot, a lawyer, or a doctor. These wishes reflected the aspirations of a generation striving for a more just and stable future.
The event included a variety of recreational activities that added a joyful atmosphere, most notably the distribution of gifts, as well as some fun segments aimed to bring smiles to the children's faces, despite the difficult living conditions resulting from the ongoing war in Gaza and its repercussions on the West Bank.
The event was attended by 150 children from SOS Children's Villages Palestine, along with Mr. Alexander Stutzmann, European Union Representative; Ms. Luisa Morgantini, former Vice President of the European Parliament; Ms. Ghada Herzallah, National Director of SOS Children's Villages Palestine; and the village's management and staff.
