In Gaza, thousands of children have been deprived of their right to education because of the war. Many have lost their parents or live in difficult conditions, and 96% of their schools have been destroyed or damaged. Yet they still long to return to learning. For them, education is not just books and notebooks — it is their path to a better future and renewed hope.
SOS Children’s Villages Palestine has been working for over 55 years in the West Bank and Gaza to provide children who have lost family care with safe homes, education, and comprehensive support. We also assist children living with their families in difficult circumstances through financial aid and psychosocial support.
Since the start of the war, we have reached over 53,000 people, including 32,000 children, and we aim to reach 100,000 people in the next phase.
With the launch of our Back-to-School Campaign, we are determined to return as many children as possible to their classrooms. Currently, we have 500 children enrolled in our emergency program who lost their educational opportunities due to the war, and we aim to reach 1,300 children in the coming year.
