Lujain’s Dream Is to Become a Mathematics Teacher

Lujain is a twelve-year-old girl. After displacement and the war, anger began to come before her words, and rebellion became her only way to express what she was feeling inside. She would get upset quickly and found it difficult to put her emotions into words.

Change began through daily emotional conversations with her family assistant, calm moments of genuine listening and heart-to-heart talks. Over time, Lujain started to calm down, understand herself better, and find words for her feelings instead of shouting. She learned how to ask for what she needs kindly, to apologize when she makes a mistake, and to express herself without anger.

Gradually, Lujain changed. She became more confident and more aware of her emotions. She learned to control her reactions and think before acting. Angry outbursts became less frequent, replaced by a sense of calm she had not known before.

At school, Lujain is now committed and organized, and her relationships with those around her have improved noticeably. She takes good care of herself and likes to keep her room tidy, as if the order around her reflects the peace that has begun to settle within her.

Today, Lujain speaks about her dream with a smile: she wants to become a mathematics teacher. She loves the subject and believes that mathematics is not as difficult as many think, but can be fun and close to children’s hearts. She says she wants to teach math in a way that helps children love it rather than fear it.
